Great place to have around in theory but rules of the facility are antiquated and are in dire need of modernization.

A place some if lucky can stay until they get back on their feet. Onsite case manager, called a Navigater, help search and find solutions. At this location , the site is called Bridgepoint. As the no no nonsense Director Thomas stated, it’s a bridge between being homeless, and finding your new place. The facility is a 100Plus year old Manor House, built by a dentist and his wife. Inside has been remolded to accommodate about 20 people. Fresno has few advocates for resources, esp for the homeless and the homeless vet. The people of Fresno it seems, can’t be bothered to help, and elect the same council members that resist progressive programs, they rather pretend there’s no homeless or displaced people. They say. They don’t have a homeless problem. The City Council decided to deal with the homeless is to cite them, I’m not kidding and if you are homeless, one can’t pay, so now the tax payer foots the bill, by putting them in jail. That’s more then if they got vouchers from donations and give shelter, resources to fund a place to shower, they closed down the only one available, lack of funding. It’s sad, and unchristian how this city treats the poor and suffering. Thank goodness for the staff of Bridgepoint, and Turning Point for addressing this problem, they are one of the few bright spots in a sad, pitiable place like Fresno.
